Devastation in Pakistan: 13.8 million hit hard
According to the United Nations, approximately 13.8 million people have been affected by widespread flooding in Pakistan. That number is greater than the combined total of those impacted by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake in North Pakistan, and this year's Haitian earthquake. Four million people have been displaced and thousands of homes have been damaged. The floods have also destroyed more than 150 bridges, isolating towns and villages.
