Greek Orthodox Christians in Gaza

Following a Vatican meeting, Roman Catholic Bishops have plead with Israel to cease displacing Palestinian civilians, arguing that religion does not provide a justifiable reason for settlement construction. The bishops were attending a summit on the plight of Christians in the Middle East. Their words and actions will strike a chord in Gaza, which has one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. The Orthodox Christian community is just one of several Christian communities in the Gaza Strip that are not as predominant as their counterparts in Jerusalem, or the West Bank.
