Teneycke: spiteful, obnoxious

Canadian Press video: At yesterday's press conference announcing the plans to launch a right-wing propaganda channel by billionaire Quebecor CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau, Kory Teneyche, a former staffer in the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) and right-wing blowhard on CBC News Network, could not contain himself and demonstrated how petty he is. Teneyche, who recently resigned his position from the CBC and will serve as Sun TV News' vice-president of development, embarrassed himself and showed a complete lack of professionalism by taking nasty swipes at the CBC and characterizing Fox News inspired vitriol and ranting as "raw debate that Canadians only find today in coffee shops and around the dinner table" Really Kory? The kind of insane yelling matches and verbal abuse regularly displayed on Fox News is what we can only find at our dinner tables and in coffee shops? Sorry Kory, but I've never been in a vitriolic, abusive shouting match with my family while having dinner, nor have I ever witnessed a Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck inspired shouting match in a coffee shop. So, considering Kory's consistent pugilistic, atagonistic, snide and obnoxious demeanor, this is his fantasy, that he doesn't appreciate nor respect civil, courteous, professional and mature political analysis and discussion, or sound objective journalism. Just consider his remarks or should I say rudeness at yesterday's announcement. First, of course, Teneycke trashed his most recent employer, as previously mentioned, the CBC:

"We’re taking on smug, condescending, often irrelevant journalism, we’re taking on political correctness. We will not be a state broadcaster, offering boring news by bureaucrats for elites and paid for by taxpayers."

Classy.

"We will be unapologetically patriotic, we will offer the type of raw debate that Canadians only find today in coffee shops and around the dinner table," as he thinks that political discussion and analysis on Canadian networks is "play fighting".

"Unapologetically patriotic", so expect any and all criticisms of the Harper government's foreign policy, handling of the mission in Afghanistan and the detainee issue to be characterized as hating our military and the troops.

"Sun News will be controversially Canadian. CBC News Network and CTV News Channel … have failed to win over Canadians despite their obvious advantages of incumbency. Canadian TV news today is narrow, it’s complacent and it’s politically correct. It’s bland and boring. Our aim is not to bore people to death, we’ll leave that to the CBC."

Right Kory. Canadian news sucks, because we don't hear enough from obnoxious and ranting blowhards such as yourself and Ezra Levant (who will also be featured on Sun TV News), and Canadian news also sucks because it doesn't have a blatant right-wing slant and doesn't champion the Harper government and conservative ideology.

Here's hoping the CRTC does not grant a license to Sun TV News, as the last thing we need is more of this:
