Iran seeks to "block opposition participation"
Mehdi Karroubi, an opposition leader in Iran, said his home was surrounded by Revolutionary Guard members, in order to prevent him from participating in al-Quds day on September 3. His website stated that his house was attacked by a mob, who smashed windows and assaulted a member of his security. In 2009, opposition figures used the rally to protest against the government. Potkin Azar-mehr, an Iranian blogger in London who has been in contact with Iranian sources, said the attack is not the first.
