Floods spark Guatemala food crisis
Two months of torrential rain in Guatemala has severely damaged the country's food supplies. Corn and maize crops have been destroyed, and more than one hundred thousand people are relying on emergency food rations, such as cooking oil, beans, and soy flour. Overflowing rivers have also contaminated wells, and drinking water is now scarce.
