Mexican journalists in peril

At least thirty journalists have either been killed or gone missing in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon took office nearly four years ago. Journalists covering the Mexican drug war say their lives are in danger as traffickers threaten them. On Thursday, a 21 year-old photographer was killed and another severely injured in the northern city of Ciudad Juarez. Local authorities said that while the incident could have been a case of mistaken identity, it is also possible that photographers were directly targeted by the drug cartels.
