Egyptians on Mubarak's son in peace talks
The attendance and involvement of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's in the Middle East talks in Washington DC has raised speculation in Egypt, regarding if he will succeed his father. Opposition groups say Gamal Mubarak's participation in high-level discussions is an attempt to boost his image as a potential leader, and many fear a presidential election could be rigged so he is victorious. Attempts to hand the reigns of power to him could trigger a major backlash and instability in the most populous Arab state.
