Pakistan rains threaten food crisis



Flood waters from the north have hit the agricultural heartland of the Pakistan killing dozens and destroying thousands of homes. Fears of severe food shortages have increased after floods wiped away farmlands and destroyed crops. The Pakistani army has been using boats and helicopters to evacuate villages to higher ground, as more rainfall is expected. Over two million people have been displaced in the southern region alone, a figure that may continue to rise.
