Ten year-old won't pledge allegiance due to discrimination against gays

Will Phillips, a ten year-old from Arkansas, refuses to say the pledge of allegiance in school because of discrimination towards gays and lesbians. Phillips' refusal is receiving major media attention as he and his father appeared on CNN Monday morning. Asked if Will was ready for the spotlight, his father Jay replied that Will viewed it as a chance to increase awareness:

He felt that just because he's ten years old doesn't mean he doesn't have opinions, doesn't mean he doesn't have rights, and doesn't mean he can't make a difference.
