For the past two years - the US government has been negotiating with eight Pacific nations on a new so-called trade deal - the Trans-Pacific Partnership. But - despite the lengthy negotiations - the TPP had been largely ignored by the mainstream media - and even Congress was unaware of America's position on the deal. That was all until last month - when a 52 page document on the TPP was leaked to the watchdog group Public Citizen - and the proverbial floodgates opened.
