UN admits to failing Congo rape victims

A senior United Nations official has admitted that UN troops failed to protect women and children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. More than five hundred sexual assaults have now been reported in the past month, including two hundred and forty-two women and children who were raped over several days, just thirty kilometers away from UN base.
