Spitzer challenges Obama Admin on financial reform

Former New York Democratic Governor Eliot Spitzer took on the Obama Administration, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and New York state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo at the 92nd Street Y on Sunday night. Regarding Mayor Bloomber's recent defence of Wall Street, Spitzer said:

Mike is a friend, but I think he's fundamentally in error when he talks about hesitating before we change the structure of banking.

Meanwhile, the New York Daily News reported:

On the financial crisis, Spitzer went after Larry Summers, Tim Geithner and Hank Paulson by name, but praised Paul Volcker as a wise man whose advice should have been more closely heeded.

Good for Spitzer and I expect no less from him, as Volcker seems to be the only one who knows what the real solution involves regarding strong regulation of Wall Street and specifically the banking industry.

Spitzer tends to believe that Andrew Cuomo will probably be New York's next governor, however he won't endorse the current Attorney General until he clarifies where he stands on health care and charter schools. Spitzer also declined to rule out another future run for public office.
