Israelis rally for better economic conditions
The tent city camped along one of the busiest corners of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv has all the hallmarks of the Arab Spring and has become a rallying point for Israelis faced with economic woes. On Saturday, more than a quarter of a million people took to the streets across the country, marking one of the biggest public protests in Israel's history. What began as a simple protest against the high cost of living has turned into something far deeper. Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has announced a committee to look into implementing economic reforms. The protesters say this is a good start, but they are not going to start breaking down the tent city until the reforms are actually made.
