Britons strike over austerity proposals
Tens of thousands of public sector workers in Britain thronged the streets of London on Thursday to protest against the government's austerity proposals. The unions say the government's new proposals will mean more work and contributions for a reduced pension. The one-day strike caused massive disruption across the country, from schools to airports to courthouses.
