Harper: austerity measures, security perimeter



The Harper government speech from the throne last week did not mention unemployment or climate change. Harper thinks he can eliminate the deficit by 2014, despite massive spending plans for stealth figther jets, corporate tax cuts, mega prisons etc, and wants to move Canada closer to American rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the anchor for this segment from the Real News, Paul Jay, tries to take a shot at the NDP for supporting a cap and trade system. Perhaps Jay should familiarize himself with the NDP's Climate Change Accountability Act, which was endorsed by David Suzuki:
