Toronto - Gas prices in Ontario would be regulated by a New Democratic Party government, provincial leader Andrea Horwath said Thursday.
Horwath said she’ll establish a weekly cap on the price of gas at the pump.
“The price of gasoline won’t go over that ceiling and drivers will know what they’re going to pay,” Horwath said Thursday. “No surprises. No shocks.”
Gas prices have soared across Canada and elsewhere in recent months.
“Filling up your car shouldn’t be like pulling the handle on a slot machine,” said Horwath, who was flanked by taxi drivers while making the announcement.
