Internationally renown sitar maestro, Ravi Shankar died on Wednesday at a
San Diego hospital after complaining of breathing problems. His
influence on western artists and their music was most evident when he
collaborated with former Beatle George Harrison in the 1960's and 70's.
Shankar is the father of acclaimed musicians Anoushka Shankar and
Norah Jones. From New Delhi, Al Jazeera's Sohail Rahman looks back at
the life of a musical legend.
