The UN says thousands of Syrians fleeing the military crackdown by the government of Bashar al-Assad have crossed into Lebanon. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to escape, activists say. Security forces in Homs backed by tanks reportedly bombed a bridge in Al-Qusair that Syrians used to cross into Lebanon. Many risk their lives in crossing the border. Saud Dandashi, a Lebanese student who was filming Syrian shelling of a border town, Haalat, was one of those who did not make it. Sue Turton reports from Akkar, on the Syria-Lebanon border.
