Toronto is our home: don't trash talk it!

The current Toronto mayoral and municipal election has turned into an assault on our city, based on lies, deception, misperceptions, myths, and not facts. This video destorys a few of the myths currently being perpetuated by right-wing mayoral candidates, ie Rob Ford, George Smitherman and Rocco Rossi, and celebrates Toronto for what it is: a great city to live and work in.

Here are a few of the key facts regarding our great city:

• The City of Toronto had a $355 million operating surplus last year, and maintains an AA1 credit rating.

• The city has $15 billion more assets than debt, and takes on new debt only for long-term capital projects.

• PriceWaterhouseCoopers just named Toronto the most livable city in the world.

• AON Consulting ranks Toronto the least risky city for employment in the world.

• KPMG says Toronto has the fifth most competitive taxes in the world.
