Not your average Joe

Mayoral candidate Joe Pantalone is handing out his own “Not Your Average Joe” condoms at this weekend’s Pride Parade.

Following up on his other playful, pocket-sized giveaway — the World Cup soccer schedule — Mr. Pantalone’s rubber is meant as a reminder that “it’s when we take care of each other that we can most enjoy each other’s company.”

His campaign draws parallels between “a responsible lover” and “a responsible mayor.” He likens the protection afforded by a condom to how he would govern the city: “a Pantalone mayoralty will be an effective prophylactic against diseases like rampant privatization, service cuts, transit delays, and divisive politics.”

Way to go, Joey Pants.
